Job summary

UES, a national leader in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and materials testing, seeks a Director, National Retail & Chain Growth to expand relationships with prominent multi-location brands. Lead growth, build partnerships, and extend UES’s national account footprint across sectors.

Open to candidates near any UES office in the U.S.; role requires strong leadership, contract-closure experience with public/private clients, and 30–50% travel to client sites and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive business development experience, preferably in A/E/C, environmental consulting, or infrastructure.
• Proven track record of building client relationships and securing contracts with public agencies, private sector, or utility/infrastructure owners.
• Deep understanding of the sales cycle for professional services, including pre-positioning, capture planning, and proposal development.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical services into client-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic business development efforts across key markets while expanding opportunities in environmental engineering, geotechnical services, construction support, and infrastructure consulting.
• Build relationships with executives, developers, construction leaders, and other stakeholders within national retail and chain organizations.
• Identify opportunities to expand UES services, geographic reach, and market share across existing and prospective accounts.
• Partner with operational, technical, and business leaders to deliver a coordinated experience for national clients.
• Represent UES at client meetings, industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships and uncover new business opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and industry activity to shape growth strategies and support informed business decisions.
• Develop account growth strategies that drive revenue and strengthen UES's position as a trusted national partner.
