Job summary

AAIR seeks a visionary VP of Development to lead national fundraising and build AAIR’s development infrastructure. Reporting to the CEO, you will own strategy across individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundations, and government funding to drive growth toward over $20 million in revenue by 2031.

Lead a growing development team, partner with the Board, and cultivate major gifts and strategic partnerships to diversify funding for a nationwide nonprofit.

Qualifications

• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies.
• Ability to build development infrastructure and drive revenue growth.
• Experience leading or helping build a development team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute AAIR’s long-term development strategy as the organization grows nationally.
• Lead the creation of a multi-year fundraising plan aligned with growth goals.
• Own AAIR’s four revenue streams: individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation support, and government funding.
• Establish goals, pipelines, and indicators across revenue streams and track progress.
• Identify opportunities to diversify funding, including major gifts and recurring giving.
• Build and lead a development team aligned with revenue and organizational growth.
• Partner with the CEO to prioritize funding opportunities and resources.
