Job summary

Alera Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, National Claims Practice Leader to drive our national P&C claims strategy and build scalable operating models.

You will advocate for clients on complex claims and strengthen carrier and wholesaler relationships for better outcomes. You will lead cross-regional efforts to standardize processes, leverage data analytics and AI, and advance claims governance while supporting regional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of progressive Property & Casualty claims experience.
• Leadership experience within a national brokerage, carrier, third-party administrator, or claims consulting organization.
• Extensive multi-line claims expertise including commercial property, casualty, workers' compensation, management liability, and specialty lines.
• Experience leading claims operations, advocacy, consulting functions, or organizational transformation initiatives.
• Proven success building and maintaining carrier and wholesaler relationships.
• Experience leveraging technology, analytics, automation, and AI to improve claims outcomes and operational effectiveness.
• Strong executive communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to travel nationally up to approximately 25% based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the national P&C claims practice and advocate for clients on complex claims.
• Develop a multi-year national claims strategy with scalable operating model and service standards.
• Align intake, triage, escalation, documentation, and client communications across regions.
• Advocate for disputed, high-severity, and escalated claims with appropriate coverage decisions.
• Build carrier and wholesaler relationships to resolve service issues and strengthen coordination.
• Evaluate and implement technology, automation, and AI solutions for claims workflows and reporting.
• Establish service metrics and reporting to identify trends and drive client impact.
• Provide functional leadership across a distributed team and develop training and shared practices.
