Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a National Bridge Design Leader to shape a growing Bridge & Structures practice. You will lead complex bridge projects, mentor engineers, and develop new business with DOT, tribal, municipal, and other transportation clients across the U.S.

This role blends technical delivery with market development and strategic planning. You will influence technical direction, establish standards, and expand Ulteig's presence nationally while maintaining a strong client focus and delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering (master's preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or in process.
• Hybrid or remote within the U.S.; travel ~10–20% to support clients and sites.
• Significant bridge engineering experience with steel/concrete structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex bridge engineering from concept through completion with high technical quality.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a high-performing team culture.
• Develop and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules for bridge projects.
• Build and strengthen client relationships with state/federal agencies, tribal nations, and industry partners.
• Lead pursuits, shape win themes, and contribute to proposals with Market and Sales teams.
