Role Summary

The National Account Manager (NAM) will be responsible for the overall operational performance strategy and execution for Cigna clients with 3,000+ employee lives. Primary responsibilities include developing and executing broad service strategies to support large client global benefit programs, wellness, and employee relations, as well as Cigna's persistency, membership growth, and earnings targets. The NAM manages business relationships, collaborates across product and operational lines, and ensures systems and processes meet client needs and drive organizational efficiency.

Role Components
  • Support clients in the Northeast region of the US.
  • Help achieve growth, profitability, and persistency objectives through effective service oversight and account management strategies.
  • Collaborate with Advocacy partners on benefit, service, and relational strategies to enhance customer and client experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends and differentiate Cigna's services, effectively communicating in retail or client discussions.
  • Work with the National Account Executive on account retention, growth, and satisfaction strategies, including multi-product collaboration and renewal activities.
  • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients and consultants by proactively engaging in needs assessments and leveraging Cigna's capabilities.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Cigna products/services across all lines.
  • Stay informed about Healthcare Reform legislation and compliance, articulating impacts confidently.
  • Lead dental reporting, analytics, and presentation efforts.
  • Implement consumerism strategies for target accounts to drive enrollment and customer behavior change, including communication campaigns and events.
  • Understand and apply underwriting principles at a basic level.
  • Leverage resources to meet onsite client needs, providing creative solutions for optimal outcomes.
  • Represent Cigna at market events such as client forums and enrollment sessions.
  • Manage healthcare provider networks and client-specific network activities and communication.
Qualifications
  • College Degree or 5+ years of related experience.
  • Proficient in healthcare/managed care business with 3+ years of experience in product knowledge, underwriting, risk analysis, marketing, sales, and account management.
  • Ability to travel within the US up to 25%.
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strategic and financial acumen; ability to partner with NAE for business growth.
  • Strong planning, organizational skills, and leadership in a matrixed environment.

Remote work is possible; internet connection must be through a cable broadband or fiber optic provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload.

The salary range for this position is estimated at $80,900 - $134,800 annually, depending on experience and location. The role may also be eligible for an annual bonus.
