Job summary

Estate Yountville in Yountville, CA is seeking a seasoned Sommelier to develop and manage a diverse, high-quality wine program that complements the restaurant’s culinary offerings.

You will oversee wine purchasing, staff education, tastings, and pairing guidance for seasonal menus and special events, while partnering with F&B leadership to elevate guest experiences and drive wine sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in wine director, sommelier, or equivalent in a luxury or fine-dining environment.
• Certified Sommelier preferred.
• Strong leadership, guest service, and wine sales abilities.

Responsibilities

• Curate and maintain a dynamic wine list with Napa Valley and international selections.
• Oversee wine purchasing, inventory control, and vendor relationships.
• Lead ongoing staff wine education, tastings, and certification programs.
• Manage wine pairings for seasonal menus, events, and chef tastings.
• Collaborate with GM, Executive Chef, and F&B leadership to ensure a seamless wine and culinary experience.
• Monitor wine service standards and compliance with responsible alcohol service regulations.
• Build guest relationships and provide personalized wine recommendations.
• Analyze wine sales and adjust offerings to maximise profitability.
