Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Director and General Manager to lead the North America Startups organization, owning go-to-market strategy, revenue delivery, and team development across major hubs.

You will drive cloud and AI adoption, engage venture capital partners, and work with senior executives to accelerate startup growth. The role requires P&L ownership, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to navigate a rapidly evolving tech landscape, with emphasis on GenAI and frontier

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in technology sales, business development, startup ecosystems, or related fields.
• 10+ years of people management experience, including managing leaders of leaders across multiple functions
• Experience leading a business unit or organization with $1B+ in revenue responsibility
• 5+ years of experience in the startup and/or venture capital ecosystem with established relationships across top-tier VC firms
• Experience building and scaling go-to-market organizations across multiple geographies and disciplines
• Experience structuring and closing complex, multi-year deals and executing growth strategies in technology markets
• Experience engaging and influencing C-suite executives, General Partners, and senior VC leadership
• Experience managing matrixed, geographically distributed teams across multiple job families
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with ability to engage technical and business audiences

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver multi-billion-dollar annual revenue targets for the North America Startup segment with YoY growth
• Define and execute the North America Startups GTM strategy including coverage models and segment approaches
• Lead organizational mechanisms supporting cloud and AI adoption across thousands of startup customers
• Cultivate strategic relationships with top-tier venture capital firms and platform teams
• Engage with AWS executive leadership, startup founders, and C-suite executives on value creation strategies
• Navigate complex, high-value opportunities with sophisticated startup customers across multiple dimensions
• Establish and manage operational cadence including pipeline reviews and performance metrics
• Build, develop, and scale high-performing teams across geographies with development paths
