Job summary

Upgrade Resources in Houston, TX is seeking a Medium Voltage Technician (Journeyman or Master) to troubleshoot, repair, and install MV systems (5kV–25kV) across client sites. This on-site, field role requires minimal supervision and may lead small crews on larger projects.

You will work with motor controls, PLCs, UPS and standby generators, maintain safety and documentation, and provide responsive service on site. Full-time, on-site with overtime, paying $48–$52 per hour.

Qualifications

• Texas Master or Journeyman Electrician license required.
• Hands-on experience with medium voltage installation, termination, and testing.
• Strong industrial troubleshooting across power distribution, motor controls, and automation.
• Valid Texas driver''s license with a clean driving record.
• Able to pass a drug screen and a 10-year national background check.
• Able to work 8 to 10 hour days plus overtime and night shifts as required.
• Able to lift more than 50 pounds; physical work is ~70% of the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform MV installations, terminations, and HiPot testing.
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and install motor control systems.
• Install and service UPS systems and standby generators.
• Program PLCs.
• Lead small crew on larger service and installation jobs.
• Provide professional, responsive customer service on client sites.
• Maintain a safe, clean jobsite and wear all required PPE.
• Complete accurate work orders, time, and material documentation for each job.
