Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a skilled HV/MV Technician to install, maintain, test, and repair high voltage equipment for solar O&M projects. The role is field-active and hybrid, with travel across client sites in the United States and occasional off-hours work.

Requirements include 3–5 years HV/MV experience, electrical testing proficiency, a valid license, and readiness to travel ~40%. OSHA 70E and NFPA 70E training are preferred, with strong safety discipline emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of HV/MV experience
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment (Multimeters, Megger, Doble, HiPot, TTR)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
• Travel around 40% and on-call duties including nights/weekends as needed
• Knowledge of electrical theory, protective relaying, and power system operations
• OSHA NFPA 70E familiarity is preferred

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HV/MV electrical systems (typically 5kV–35kV)
• Test transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and protective devices
• Perform cable splicing and terminations per industry standards
• Troubleshoot faults and perform root-cause analysis
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and test results
• Assist energizing new or repaired systems following safety protocols
• Support system upgrades, outages, and emergency repairs
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet specs and timelines
