Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a senior electrical engineer to design the MV distribution network for their data-center scale projects. You will size feeders, design MV substations, and define protection philosophy for inverter-dominated grids.

You will work with a team delivering gigawatt-scale compute while ensuring NEC/NFPA compliance and reliable power delivery. Applicants should have hands-on ETAP/PSCAD experience, track record in grid studies, and ability to turn complex requirements into

Qualifications

Must have hands-on experience building ETAP or SKM PowerTools models for MV networks and producing load flow, short circuit and cable sizing results.
Experience with PSCAD models of switching, energization or islanded events and using results to influence design.
Knowledge of protection philosophy and relay settings for limited fault current systems.
Design MV distribution down to hardware scope including switchgear, transformers, cable sizing, grounding and NEC/NFPA/IEEE compliance.
Ability to turn design into repeatable standards across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Design the medium-voltage network carrying power from generation blocks to data halls as a standard deployed across sites.
Design cluster ties and MV substations, including transformer selection and switching sequences.
Size feeders and cables and perform load flow, voltage drop, short circuit and EMT studies.
Define protection philosophy and relay settings for inverter-dominated networks and ship standard specifications.
Draft design basis and guidelines to enable growth and replicate across projects.
