Job summary

Sanmina is seeking a Test Engineer for the 2nd shift to support MV transformer testing and qualification. You will operate precision diagnostic systems, log data, and draft preliminary reports while coordinating with daytime engineers.

The role emphasizes safety, high-voltage procedures, and attention to detail in a manufacturing setting; candidates with a BSEE or BSEET and 0–2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (academic lab work, co-ops, or internships in power engineering or high-voltage systems).
• Must be able to consistently work a 2nd shift schedule (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM).
• Knowledge of transformer operations, electromagnetic theory, and 3-phase power distribution circuits.

Responsibilities

• Routine Electrical Testing: Perform core electrical tests on MV transformers, including winding resistance, insulation resistance, Turns Ratio, vector group verification, excitation current, and no-load/load loss measurements.
• High Voltage & Dielectric Testing: Assist in high-voltage dielectric tests with proper safety margins.
• 2nd Shift Production Support: Execute tests during evening shifts and maintain pass/fail logs and shift handovers.
• Data Processing & Certified Reports: Process raw measurement data and draft preliminary Certified Test Reports.
• Preliminary Troubleshooting: Identify initial test failures and document symptom profiles for escalation.
• Equipment Verification & Setup: Calibrate and verify test instruments to ensure ready test bays.
• Safety Protocols: Follow high-voltage safety practices and PPE/LOTO procedures.
