Job summary

Veeco is seeking a Test Engineer for 2nd shift to support Manufacturing and Product Marketing. You will develop test plans for new products, troubleshoot, and train technicians on product platforms. The role requires hands-on experience with electro‑mechanical systems and the ability to work across teams to resolve issues.

You will participate in design reviews and contribute to test method development, with a schedule of 3:30pm to 12:00am. Domestic and international travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; 5 years of experience with electro‑mechanical systems.
• Master's Degree with 3+ years in related field; applicable experience preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and tool configurations; notify teams when gaps exist.
• Organize, schedule, and lead in‑house customer source inspections; document, address, and close out actions.
• Develop test definitions and functional requirements for new products; assist with testing of new product designs.
• Perform marathon cycle testing and troubleshooting; provide weekend support when needed.
• Conduct electro/ mechanical failure mode analysis; provide feedback to design engineering.
• Support manufacturing and contract manufacturers for new product introduction and transition to operations.
• Troubleshoot software/hardware interactions; provide feedback to software engineering.
• Train technicians on product platforms and test methodologies; drive continuous improvement.
