Great Hearts Academies is seeking a Music Teacher for grades 3–5 at the Arlington Lower School to inspire students through a balanced program of performance, theory, history, and appreciation. You will teach with a focus on cultivating truth, goodness, and beauty within a classical liberal arts framework.

The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty, professional growth, and a commitment to an orderly, respectful learning environment.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • Certification not required for general education.
  • All majors welcome.
  • US Work Authorization required.
  • Background check and fingerprint clearance required.
  • Travel may be required for training and development opportunities.

Responsabilidades

  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, delivering thoughtful lessons and maintaining an orderly, joyful classroom.
  • Provide academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with leadership to address needs promptly.
  • Uphold and model school culture, policies, dress code, conduct and safety procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with families, scheduling conferences as needed and fostering home–school partnerships.
  • Participate in academy life through collaboration, events, duties, and ongoing professional growth.

Position Title: Music Teacher 3-5 grade Location: Great Hearts Arlington Lower School (6701 S Cooper St. Arlington, TX 76001) Reports To: Headmaster FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

Fine Arts at Great Hearts: Fine Arts are not just electives but part of the core curriculum at Great Hearts: all students study music, drama, poetry and studio art. Music coursework includes both “applied” or performance foci as well as substantive music theory, history, and appreciation. We boast a stellar faculty across the fine arts curriculum, most of whom are professional artists and performers.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
  • Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
  • Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
  • Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
Required/Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
  • Certification is not required for general education
  • All majors are welcome
  • US Work Authorization required
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
  • Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
