Job summary

Duetti is seeking a Deal Executive in Los Angeles to negotiate, sign, and close catalog acquisition deals with artists and writers. You will collaborate with A&R, Underwriting, Legal, and Finance to ensure deals meet company and artist objectives.

You will shape acquisition strategy with senior leadership and operate at the intersection of music, operations and data analytics, directly impacting hundreds of creators.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven experience in private equity, investment banking, or other relevant finance or professional services role.
• Strong analytical skills, with an ability to interpret and manipulate complex and unstructured data.
• An understanding of the music industry, and an ability to interpret and navigate complex deal structures fluidly.
• Experience in opportunity and risk assessment, with an ability to make informed decisions during negotiations and diligence.
• Ability to quickly interpret and synthesize legal agreements.
• Proven attention to detail, strong work ethic and enthusiasm for working in an early stage start‑up environment that requires “self starters” and problem solvers.
• A love for music and culture, and a desire to be at the forefront of new business models for artists.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Duetti’s A&R team to lead, negotiate and execute on deals with artists and their teams.
• Project manage deals end-to-end, ensuring a healthy pipeline through data-driven assessments and creative lead generation.
• Participate in key decision-making processes with Underwriting and Legal teams, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Create novel solutions to challenges our A&R team encounters with rights acquisition and implement processes to meet ambitious timelines.
• Develop and nurture relationships with artists, managers, and other industry stakeholders.
• Enable the A&R team to hit ambitious targets in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Track key deal points and conversations across internal tools like HubSpot, Airtable and Notion.
• Stay updated with industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies in the music fintech space.
