Job summary

The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) seeks applicants to support the daily Visitor Services operations at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post, including ticketing, field trips, workshops and special events, as well as retail operations.

The program assistant will provide leadership for daily visitor services, assist with retail operations, and support interpretive programs, workshops, seasonal demonstrations and special events.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years experience in a retail, sales, or event planning environment suggested.
• Ability to work with diverse audiences in educational or customer service settings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while adapting to changing priorities.
• Experience handling customer complaints respectfully.
• Strong computer skills for project documentation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Basic math and accounting skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
