Job summary

Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block is seeking an Assistant Director of Visitor Experience to manage the day-to-day operations of visitor services and retail, with a focus on admissions and earned-revenue activities including the Museum Store and Artisan Market events.

This exempt, regular full-time role reports to the Senior Director of Visitor Experience and Safety and requires leadership of front-line staff, coordination with multiple departments, and a commitment to inclusive,

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, arts administration, museum studies, or related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in visitor services, retail operations, hospitality, or customer service.
• Demonstrated training and supervisory experience with front-line or customer-facing staff.
• Strong customer service orientation with inclusive and welcoming practices.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-line visitor experience staff and model professional hospitality.
• Oversee admissions, retail operations, and store revenue.
• Coordinate vendor opportunities and events like Artisans Markets.
• Prepare daily admissions and sales reports for leadership.
• Collaborate with Curatorial, Education, Marketing, and other departments for programs and events.
