Job summary

The City of Waco seeks an organized leader to manage the operations and staff of the Waco Mammoth National Monument. This role oversees planning, resource allocation, and programs related to the display and interpretation of artifacts and exhibits.

Under general supervision, the position directs operations, staff performance, budgeting and program development; develops scientific interpretive tours and public engagement initiatives; ensures facilities are well maintained, compliant with laws,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of senior management experience or equivalent combination.
  • CJIS/federal background checks or other screenings may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and oversees WMNM operations, programs, educational activities and events; ensures compliance with laws and policies.
  • Develops interpretive tours, educational programs and public engagement initiatives; coordinates outreach with the public and partners.
  • Manages facility use, event scheduling, and ensures spaces are clean, safe and operational.
  • Directs staff in program planning, budgeting and staff development; assigns work and evaluates performance.
  • Oversees budgets, revenues, expenditures and fundraising efforts; supports marketing and asset protection.
