Job summary

Honolulu Museum of Art is seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee daily operations of the museum’s facilities and grounds. You will manage maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping, and building systems, while driving a proactive maintenance program through CMMS and BAS analytics.

You will collaborate on renovations, exhibitions, and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety and accessibility for visitors and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in facilities-related field.
• Professional credential can substitute for degree.
• Valid driver's license.
• 5+ years in facilities operations/management roles.
• 3+ years in supervisory roles overseeing maintenance, custodial, or related staff.
• Experience with building systems, budgeting, procurement, and vendors.
• Knowledge of safety practices, codes, CMMS, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Monitor BAS and environmental monitoring to meet standards.
• Coordinate inspections, maintenance, repairs, and tests of infrastructure and equipment.
• Document adjustments and changes per procedures.
• Support lifecycle planning and preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Administer CMMS including asset inventories and work orders.
• Develop campus-wide preventive maintenance programs.
• Supervise and develop maintenance staff.
• Manage contracts, proposals, and vendor performance.
• Ensure safety, accessibility, and compliance across operations.
