Job summary

The Honolulu Museum of Art seeks a Facilities Operations Manager to oversee daily maintenance of all museum facilities and grounds, including systems, preventative maintenance, and contract management. The role advances proactive, data‑driven maintenance and ensures a safe, welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Professional credential (CFM, FMP, PMP or similar) may substitute for a degree.
• Valid driver's license.
• Five years in facilities operations or related field.
• Three years supervising maintenance staff.
• Experience with building systems (MEP, life safety) and CMMS; vendor management and budgeting.
• Knowledge of safety codes, compliance, and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, environmental control, life safety, building envelope, and structural systems.
• Monitor BAS and environmental monitoring to meet museum standards and collection preservation.
• Coordinate inspections, maintenance, repairs, and testing of facility infrastructure.
• Administer CMMS: asset inventories, work orders, preventive maintenance, reporting.
• Support lifecycle planning and budgeting for long-term building reliability.
