Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Municipal Maintenance Technician to manage Portage’s water and sewer system assets. You will operate and troubleshoot WTP equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operation across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates hold a High School diploma with 2+ years in municipal public works, and possess CDL with Air Brake and Tanker endorsements. The role requires strong safety awareness and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prefer 2 years’ experience in municipal public works environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use standard tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses basic WTP equipment and wastewater pump station issues and takes corrective action.
• Inspects and troubleshoots equipment; reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Operates equipment via panels, LCDs, and control systems.
• Performs field tests to adjust chemical dosages and treatment processes.
• Collects water samples and maintains shift logs.
• Maintains SOPs and assists in developing new procedures.
• Trains peers as requested.
• Performs routine maintenance and lubrication on equipment.
