Job summary

City of Wilmington, NC is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide city-wide staff technology support, troubleshoot issues, and help maintain reliable systems across departments. You’ll assist Police and Fire with critical public safety tech and ensure devices and software stay up to date.

Key duties include deploying PCs and mobile devices, imaging new machines, managing Office 365/Teams and SCCM/MDM, and performing password resets and remote troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in information systems or related field and relevant experience.
• Experience providing routine technical supports in an organizational setting.
• Ability to work on-call evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide city-wide staff technology support via phone and email.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document hardware and software issues.
• Deploy computers and mobile devices; create images and inventory.
• Assist with Office 365, Teams, and SCCM/MDM administration.
• Maintain equipment library; perform password resets and remote work.
• Serve as Standby Specialist for after-hours priority service desk calls.
