Job summary

The City of Philadelphia invites applications for a Technical Support Specialist to support the Philadelphia Police Department. In a state-of-the-art data center, you will provide first- and second-level IT support, hardware troubleshooting, and user assistance to 6,500 staff.

You will help implement support policies, assist in planning software deployments, and ensure operational continuity across day and evening shifts, adapting to changing workloads with reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; IT support experience helpful.
• Knowledge of PC hardware and A+ certification preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive incident and information requests for IT services and route to appropriate team.
• Monitor progress from start to resolution and keep customers informed.
• Provide tier-1 technical support for hardware and applications.
• Image, configure, and install PCs and peripherals, including field devices.
• Prioritize calls by business impact and escalate when needed.
• Travel to remote police locations to resolve PC/peripheral issues.
