Job summary

The City of Broken Arrow is seeking a detail-oriented financial accountant to support city government activities. Under limited supervision, you will handle complex financial transactions, depreciation, fixed asset management, and month-end closings.

You will assist with year-end closing, audits, and annual budgeting, ensuring grants and revenue transactions are accurately recorded. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 1–2 years of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; 1–2 years of accounting experience.
• Ability to prepare, maintain, analyze, verify, and reconcile complex financial transactions and reports.
• Experience with year-end closing, audits, and grant accounting.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional-level accounting duties including preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports.
• Manage new accounting project implementations.
• Identify all capital asset activity for the fixed asset system; document expenditures and perform physical audits.
• Complete depreciation processes and journal entries.
• Execute Month End Process and close books in accounting software.
• Prepare Income Statements for General Fund, BAMA, and Public Safety and report to lenders and stakeholders.
