Job summary

The City of Springdale is seeking an experienced accounting professional to assist the Finance Director in delivering financial and accounting services for the City. The role involves maintaining fiscal records and systems, preparing audits, and supporting budget processes.

Responsibilities include cash receipts, bank reconciliations, monthly reporting, and general ledger activity. The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting, GAAP/GASB experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area; GAAP/GASB experience.
• Minimum two years accounting, management reporting, or auditing experience.
• CPA/CPFO/CGFM preferred; strong proficiency with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers.
• Assist in annual audit prep for the city’s financial statements.
• Assist in managing finance and budget preparation.
• Process daily cash receipts and deposits; licenses processing.
• Reconcile 25+ bank accounts monthly to the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly reports such as Receivables Aging and Revenue/Expenditures.
• Record entries to the general ledger; review journal entries.
