Job summary

The Community Builders is seeking a Service Technician II in Boston, MA to promptly respond to service requests, handle apartment turnover prep, and maintain property interiors, exteriors, and grounds. The role requires a strong set of building trades skills and a commitment to customer service and teamwork.

This position involves five days per week in the office, with duties spanning appliance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs, grounds upkeep, and preparation for REAC/HQS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3 years of advanced hands-on repair in two or more building trades preferred.
• REAC/HQS experience is preferred.
• Industry certifications (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Monitor vendor preventive maintenance for building systems and equipment.
• Repair vacant apartments to prepare for new residents.
• Maintain grounds and common areas, including cleaning, trash, landscaping and snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain shop and inventory with safety mindset and PPE.
• Be available for weekend work and emergency service calls.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
