Job summary

The University of Maryland at College Park is seeking a facilities maintenance lead to coordinate daily operations across multiple buildings and ensure timely completion of diverse trade work orders. You will manage laboratory and research areas and support high-visibility facilities within a 200,000+ gross square foot portfolio.

The role requires extensive trade knowledge, supervisory experience, and adherence to OSHA standards, with a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• EXPERIENCE: Four years progressively responsible experience in the trade(s) where assigned; at least one year in a lead or supervisory capacity. In a non-supervisory/leader position, 5 years of experience is required.
• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of OSHA regulations, electrical, mechanical and maintenance practices; ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• ABILITIES: Communicate effectively, lead and train staff, and prepare summaries and reports; work at heights and in hazardous environments with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day liaison between occupants and Facilities Management for multiple buildings.
• Process and complete a wide range of multi-trade work orders and supervise trade staff.
• Oversee maintenance in facilities with 200,000+ gross square feet; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
