Job summary

GeneDx, Inc. seeks a Facilities Lead to provide technical services for building interiors, exteriors, and laboratory spaces, ensuring all systems are maintained and ready for daily use in a Gaithersburg, MD lab facility.

The role requires 3–5 years in facilities maintenance, HVAC expertise, and experience with Building Management Systems. The position involves safety protocols, PPE, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or commercial facilities maintenance.
• 3–5 years of hands-on HVAC experience in commercial/industrial buildings.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage ticket queues and assign tasks by priority.
• Oversee facilities projects to improve building reliability and functionality.
• Triage and respond to tickets to restore lab functionality quickly.
• Maintain master equipment records and ensure Good Documentation Practice.
• Support cross-functional projects with Equipment, Quality, Lab Personnel and IT.
• Coordinate access for external vendors and ensure safety and standards compliance.
• Communicate with vendors for maintenance scheduling of building systems.
• Monitor lab/environmental systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain logs for fire safety systems and power equipment.

Education
