Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Maintenance Repairman 2 to join the Central Office Maintenance Division at the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. You will perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks across many trades to support building safety, comfort, and reliability.

The role covers general maintenance, HVAC operation, and emergency response, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Telework is not available, and the salary is non-negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years of building/plant maintenance work in two or more trades.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training that covers required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance including painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Operate and maintain HVAC systems to ensure comfort and energy efficiency.
• Inspect tools, machinery, and mechanical systems for defects and perform repairs.
• Install, repair, and move office furniture, modular systems, partitions, blinds, and window treatments.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and support fire safety activities.
