Job summary

The Department of Human Services in Pennsylvania seeks a Maintenance Repairman 2 to keep Norristown State Hospital running safely and efficiently. You will perform skilled trades repairs, assist staff, and implement improvements that support comfort and safety for everyone on site.

Responsibilities include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment maintenance, using hand and power tools, while following safety procedures and asbestos abatement as required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years in building/plant maintenance across trades.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the required knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Repair plumbing systems and equipment.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems.
• Remodel walls, ceilings, floors; build cabinets/shelving.
• Prepare and apply interior/exterior paint finishes.
• Operate hand and power tools safely while performing repairs.
