Job summary

Bally's Corporation in Evansville, IN is seeking a skilled cook to support high-volume kitchen operations. The role requires handling multiple cooking stations, maintaining quality and presentation, and adhering to safety standards.

You will work closely with the Room Chef, Sous Chefs, and Cook 1 to ensure timely preparation and service. Daily duties include meat and seafood prep, breading, soups and sauces, and accurate portioning.

Qualifications

• Experience in Food and Beverage operations.
• Ability to multitask across several cooking stations.
• Knowledge of safety standards and sanitation procedures.
• Familiarity with reading menus and estimating quantity needs.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Dips food items in crumbs, flour, and batter to bread them.
• Stirs and strains soups and sauces, grill, sauté, and expedite with good knife skills.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Transports pans, kettles, and trays between stations and storage.
• Maintains proper rotation and dating of food containers.
• Assists in training Cook 3 and Steward/utility staff.
• Ensures proper preparation and presentation of all menu items.
• Reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders from supplier.
• Adheres to safety standards and works with Room Chef and Sous Chefs.
• Operates ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles safely.
• Carves meats, portions plates, and adds gravies and sauces.
• Bakes bread, rolls, cakes, and pastry as required.
• Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits.
• Correctly handles multiple stations and stands for long periods.
