Job summary

Duke Energy in Salisbury, NC seeks a multiskilled maintenance technician to support safe, reliable operation at a combined cycle facility. You will perform mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls maintenance, troubleshoot plant systems, and assist with startups and shutdowns following approved procedures.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to learn quickly while handling routine, planned, and emergent maintenance across the site.

Qualifications

HS Diploma/GED or equivalent
Demonstrates mechanical, electrical or L&C experience
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Lift up to 50 pounds
Working knowledge of generating station systems and processes
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Basic computer skills with common Windows apps and work management software
Demonstrates safety and adaptability and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

Perform electrical maintenance on motors, breakers, transformers, relays and switchyards.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, control and electrical systems and equipment.
Troubleshoot Ovation/WDPF control systems and PLCs.
Calibrate equipment and perform inspections/overhauls.
Operate lifting equipment and rigging safely.
Read and interpret OEM manuals and technical drawings.
