Job summary

CBRE Government and Defense is seeking a versatile Utilities Worker to perform facility maintenance, repair, and light construction across assigned sites. This role covers plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, cleaning, and related tasks, with occasional custodial duties.

You will inspect facilities, maintain records, assist with events setup, and respond to emergencies. The job may require evenings, weekends, and holidays, and you must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools; basic carpentry and maintenance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building repairs not requiring a specialized trade license (painting, basic carpentry, light plumbing/bathroom repairs, door and hardware repair).
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Inspect facilities, equipment, and surfaces to identify maintenance, repair, or replacement needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces; vacuuming and mopping floors.
• Restock areas and maintain utility supplies in closets; replenish paper goods and soap.
• Support movement of materials within the facility and assist with events setup.
• Respond to facility emergencies and notify staff after hours of issues requiring additional personnel.
