Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking an Assistant to support center staff under Head Start guidelines. The role involves welcoming visitors, assisting teachers with activities, and helping with daily classroom routines to ensure a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for children.

You will also assist with basic clerical tasks, transportation safety, meal service support, and custodial duties as needed, contributing to a collaborative, child-centered program.

Qualifications

• Six months experience working within a variety of responsibilities to include working with young children, cooking in a restaurant, or cleaning in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Greeting visitors in person or by phone and directing inquiries.
• Notify center personnel of arrivals and issue visitor badges.
• Enter data, complete reports, file, and retrieve information.
• Assist the Teacher in child-centered activities and maintaining safety and developmental appropriateness.
• Support custodial tasks, playground supervision, and sick room duties as assigned.
• Assist with bus duties to ensure safe transportation and seating for children.
• Assist with meal preparation, dishwashing, and kitchen cleanliness as directed.
• Contribute to a collaborative team, communicate with staff, parents, and children.
