Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Teacher Assistant/Support role to help center staff with daily duties in accordance with Head Start standards. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, data entry, assisting teachers, and contributing to safe, healthy activities for children.

The role supports bus, cook, and custodial duties as needed, with opportunities to participate in local meetings and training.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in roles involving young children, cooking, or cleaning.
• Ability to greet visitors and perform clerical tasks with accuracy.
• Capability to assist teachers and bus/cook staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors in person or by phone and direct inquiries.
• Enter data, complete reports, file, and retrieve information.
• Assist teachers with activities and record keeping.
• Support playground supervision and sick room duties.
• Help bus staff ensure safe transportation and seating.
• Assist kitchen staff with meal prep, records, and cleanliness.
• Perform custodial duties and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate positively with staff, parents, and children.
