Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a versatile center assistant to support staff and operations across Head Start centers in Oregon. Duties include greeting visitors, handling clerical tasks, assisting teachers with activities, and helping with bus, cook, and custodial duties as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, teamwork, and engagement with children and families. The position offers a competitive hourly pay range and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Six months experience working within a variety of responsibilities to include working with young children, cooking in a restaurant, or cleaning in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors in person or by phone, answer inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate staff.
• Enter data, complete reports, file and retrieve information, and support clerical tasks.
• Assist with classroom duties: activities, record-keeping, custodial tasks, playground supervision, and sick room duties.
• Support transportation safety as a Bus Assistant and assist with meal preparation and kitchen upkeep.
• Contribute to a team environment by communicating with staff, parents, and children and attending required trainings.
