Job summary

Mark-Taylor is seeking a Service Technician to perform make-ready tasks, diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry issues, and maintain units to Mark-Taylor standards.

You will also handle basic roof repairs, keying locks, pool maintenance, and safety inspections, while supporting on-call coverage with the facilities team. A strong mechanical aptitude and reliable work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Service Technician or related maintenance experience required.
• Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting to complete repairs independently.
• General maintenance knowledge across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and repairs.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and manage work orders with minimal oversight.
• Strong problem-solving and prioritization of maintenance tasks.
• Good time management and organization for competing priorities.
• Ability to learn maintenance platforms and property management software.
• HappyCo experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, ensure pool is in proper chemical balance and area is safe.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect the property for safety hazards and inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of hazards.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service and be available in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
