Job summary

Mark-Taylor is seeking a Service Technician to support our Scottsdale, AZ communities. You will diagnose appliances, perform repairs, and complete make-ready unit maintenance to uphold high property standards.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and daily pool care. Prior maintenance experience and the ability to work independently are essential; HappyCo experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous Service Technician or related maintenance experience required.
• Strong appliance diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to identify issues, determine solutions and complete repairs.
• Well-rounded general maintenance knowledge across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general apartment repairs.
• Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and completing repairs efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned work orders with minimal oversight while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize maintenance needs and complete repairs efficiently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to learn and navigate maintenance platforms and property management software.
• HappyCo experience preferred.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
