Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a Safety and Environmental Manager to lead and support safety programs across three locations in Oregon and California. The role is onsite in McMinnville, OR with frequent travel to Boring, OR and Cloverdale, CA to strengthen compliance and safety culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Environmental Health and Safety leadership or senior operations with safety/regulatory responsibility.
• Experience in lumber or manufacturing is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations (EPA/OSHA).
• Safety certifications such as OSHA 30 or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of safety/environmental programs across Oregon and California locations.
• Ensure policies, procedures, training, and practices comply with regulations.
• Identify gaps through reviews and reporting; recommend improvements to reduce risk.
• Communicate with regulatory agencies; coordinate inspections and follow-ups.
• Maintain onsite presence with leaders; travel regularly between McMinnville, Boring, and Cloverdale.
• Coordinate safety committee training and facility inspections.
• Identify hazards; coordinate corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure trainings, inspections, documentation, meetings, and follow-ups are completed accurately.
• Support investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate training programs to enhance safe work practices.
