Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate Degree
• Minimum of 5-years’ experience in safety or related field
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other databased systems

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA/MDEQ rules.
• Develops and manages the RCRA hazardous waste program (generation, accumulation, handling, storage, disposal).
• Develops safety and environmental training programs per 40 CFR 261.3.
• Maintains records of environmental, health, and safety activities per 40 CFR 262.
• Performs safety inspections and recommends corrective/ preventive actions.
• Conducts post-accident investigations and prepares reports for management.
• Coordinates programs on hazardous chemicals per 40 CFR 260-273.
• Manages toxic substances programs and other regulated waste streams.
• Develops noise surveys and atmosphere monitoring per 40 CFR 262-265.
• Inspects facility for fire safety equipment and first-aid supplies.
• Maintains emergency response plans per 29 CFR 1910.120.
• Prepares and submits federal, state, local EPA reports.
