Job summary

Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) and Eastman Therapy Services seek a Physical Therapy Aide to support licensed therapists and the rehabilitation team across VCMC and Eastman locations, with weekend coverage as needed.

The ideal candidate has a Physical Therapy Aide certificate or coursework in Biology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or Psychology, plus strong communication and clerical skills to maintain treatment areas and assist in patient care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a physical therapy aide program or applicable coursework.
• Twelve semester units in anatomy, physiology, psychology or human development, or related work.
• Three months of paid or volunteer experience with individuals with disabilities or in schools/clinics/hospital settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient treatment and related tasks per training.
• Clean treatment areas and equipment; perform laundry duties.
• Handle charting, filing, correspondence; answer phones; assist in clinics.
• Assist with positioning for treatment and transportation of patients.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and sanitation of therapy materials and equipment.
• Communicate with primary therapist regarding patient progress.
• Maintain records and documentation of treatment.
• Perform other related duties as required.
