Job summary

Ventura County Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapy Aide to provide routine patient-care and operational support to the rehabilitation therapy team across VCMC and Eastman Therapy Services. The role supports therapists and helps maintain a safe, organized care environment.

Weekend coverage and flexibility across locations are required. The ideal candidate has a background in Biology/Exercise Science or a PT Aide certificate, strong communication, clerical skills, and knowledge of adult

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a physical therapy aide program, OR
• Twelve (12) semester units in anatomy, physiology, psychology or human development, OR
• Three (3) months of paid or volunteer experience working with individuals with disabilities or with students/children in a school, care facility, clinic, or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Assists with the performance of patient treatment and related tasks in training.
• Cleans treatment areas and equipment and performs laundry duties.
• Handles charting, filing, and correspondence; answers telephone; assists in the preparation and operation of clinics.
• Assists with positioning for treatment and transportation of patients.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and sanitation of therapy equipment and tools.
• Communicates with primary therapist about patient progress.
• Maintains records and documentation of treatment; performs other related duties.
