Job summary

Alpert JFS is seeking a Food Pantry Operations Manager to oversee procurement, storage, and distribution of food for community members in need. This role trains volunteers, coordinates with vendors, and liaises with the Temple Executive Director to support monthly packaging and distribution efforts.

The candidate will manage three pantry locations, supervise staff and volunteers, track donations, and ensure efficient operations within budget and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years working in a non-profit with at least one year program oversight.
• Experience recruiting and/or working with volunteers.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; interact with staff, volunteers, donors.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of three pantry locations (Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach).
• Visit each location weekly to supervise operations and projects.
• Inventory food and supplies quarterly; provide required reports.
• Coordinate with vendors to restock pantry to meet community needs.
• Manage monthly food spend within approved budget.
• Oversee food waste, pantry traffic, and shelf placement.
• Submit monthly invoices to accounting; raise requests as needed.
• Schedule volunteers with the Volunteer Coordinator for packing and stocking.
• Track donations and deliver checks to accounting; record in-kind donations with Development.
• Receive food deliveries and stock pantry; monitor monthly checklists for distributions.
• Coordinate monthly facility packaging setup with Temple Executive Director.
