Job summary

The IT Support Technician position at Michigan State University (MSU) provides comprehensive technical support for the College of Natural Science's computing environments. Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher with 1–3 years of related desktop/laptop support.
• Support for Windows, MacOS, and Linux desktops and printers.
• Experience with software and web applications and AD group maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Tech support for desktops and laptops running Windows, Mac OS, and Linux
• Tech support for printers, multi-function devices, and tablets
• Setup of new tech devices and decommissioning of old devices
• Tech support of various software and web applications
• Manage and track Department software licenses, including user maintenance and installation
• Maintain IT inventory including hardware and software
• Perform basic server updates, file permission setting changes, and AD group maintenance
• Perform basic Ethernet and WiFi network troubleshooting and manage basic network settings
• Support and maintain conference and classroom projectors and misc AV equipment
• Assist users with virtual meetings on Zoom and Microsoft Teams
