Scituate School Department (RI) seeks a Multilingual Learner (MLL) Service Provider Consultant for a One Year Only term to support high‑quality services for multilingual learners across PK–12. Qualifications

• Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, Rhode Island certification All Grades English to Speakers of Other Languages Teacher PK–12.
• Knowledge of second-language acquisition and effective practices for multilingual learners.
• Knowledge of WIDA standards and RI requirements for multilingual learners.
• Knowledge of MLL identification, screening, English language proficiency assessment, progress monitoring, and exit criteria.
• Ability to consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and students.

Responsibilities

• Support MLL services implementation per RI and federal requirements.
• Identify, screen, place, and monitor students for MLL services.
• Administer and coordinate ELL proficiency assessments (WIDA Screener, ACCESS).
• Maintain records of language proficiency, services, and progress monitoring.
• Provide professional learning and resources for educators working with multilingual learners.
• Consult with classroom teachers on instructional strategies and accommodations.
• Support access to grade-level curriculum and high-quality Tier 1 instruction.
• Participate in PLCs/MTSS and student support teams as appropriate.
