Job summary

The Learning Community in Central Falls, RI is seeking a Multilingual Learner Teacher (MLL) to join a collaborative public charter school focused on literacy and social justice. This is a full-time teacher of record role supporting multilingual students academically and socio-emotionally along with a team of reading and ELL/MLL specialists.

Salary ranges from $48,493 to $93,703 with comprehensive benefits. The role requires RI ELL/MLL certification and a commitment to reflective practice,

Qualifications

• RI ELL/MLL certification required or in process.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required in the U.S.
• Demonstrates reflective practices and willingness to improve performance.
• Uses formative & summative assessment data in planning for tiered instruction for all students.
• Maintains high expectations and positive regard for all students and staff.
• Experience with ELL/MLL population preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Deputy Head of School and MLL Coordinator.
• Works with a collaborative team of reading and ELL/MLL teachers.
• Create and/or contribute to Personalized Literacy Plans aligned to school, teacher, and student needs.
• Provide direct literacy and language intervention support to individuals and small groups.
• Ensure effective and aligned implementation of curricula and review data to inform planning.
• Review data as a means of informing planning and supporting teachers to make informed decisions to drive student achievement.
• Maintain up-to-date records of student progress connected to learning goals.
• Stay current with instructional theory and best practices for diverse learners.
