Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support classroom teachers in elementary, middle, or high school settings. The IA will assist with instructional activities, prepare materials, and help maintain a positive, safe learning environment.

This noncertified position requires a high school diploma or GED, CPI certification may be required, and the role may involve occasional after-hours activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• TITLE I schools require ESSA education requirements.
• CPI certification may be required; CPI training provided.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and planning.
• Prepare materials and help manage classroom procedures.
• Support a safe, caring learning environment for all students.
• Work with individual students or small groups as directed by teachers.
• Participate in district staff development and professional growth.
• Maintain professionalism and protect student confidentiality as required by FERPA.
