Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant (IA) to support classroom instruction and administrative tasks in elementary, middle, or high schools. The IA will work with teachers to reinforce skills, assist with lesson activities, and help prepare materials as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and, for Title I schools, additional coursework or experience. CPI certification may be needed; strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six Semester hours of coursework in childhood education or two years of work experience in a childhood setting (Title I schools).
• CPI certification may be required depending on school and student population.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps.
• Strong instructional delivery knowledge and core subjects understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in instructional activities and general administrative tasks.
• Support individual students or groups; reinforce skills as directed by teachers.
• Help plan, organize, and prepare materials per lesson plan.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in district staff development.
