Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support classroom teachers and students across elementary, middle, or high school settings. The IA will assist in instructional activities, supervise students, and help with materials and administrative tasks at a school-site location.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and compliance with ESSA Title I school requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Meet ESSA requirements for Title I schools (see text).
• Six semester hours in childhood education OR two years of childhood setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support and assists teachers in instructional activities and materials preparation.
• Supports in implementing goals and objectives set by licensed teachers.
• Coordinates with teachers to reinforce skills based on student needs.
• Participates in district staff development and professional growth.
• Maintains safety and well-being of students at all times.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
