Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in classrooms across Elementary, Middle, or High School settings. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, prep work, and student supervision in a school-site environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • For TITLE I schools: six semester hours of coursework in childhood education, OR two years of work experience in a childhood setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
  • Support students individually or in small groups as directed by teachers.
  • Help prepare materials and ensure supplies are ready for lessons.
  • Participate in district staff development and ongoing professional growth.
  • Maintain a safe, caring, and orderly classroom environment.
