Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations. The role includes administering injections, performing EKGs, patient history intake, and coordinating referrals in a primary care setting.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year MA experience or MA credentials, EMR/EHR familiarity, and BLS certification. Travel to other clinic sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant or MA diploma/certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Hours/locations may change.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day front and back office operations.
• Administer injections and assist with non-invasive procedures (EKGs, screenings).
• Record patient history and vital signs; document quality metrics.
• Maintain inventory and ensure equipment calibration and cleanliness.
• Register patients; verify insurance; post encounter data.
• Reconcile daily cash and secure deposits.
• Prepare for next day clinic; screen program eligibility.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist other departments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
